Winners to be announced at the Kew Midsummer Fete on June 20th
During April and May, The Kew Society has been running a photographic competition for the junior schools of Kew. The idea was conceived by the talented Jane Hogan who we are lucky to have on our Events team. She has been working extremely hard behind the scenes, talking to school heads, organising four professional judges, distributing the information to the schools and collecting the many and varied entries.
The children of Kew took Jane’s ideas on board and came up with some challenging material for the judges to do battle with. We would like to express our warmest thanks to them for giving up their time. They are Vibeke Dahl, a local professional photographer, Laura Giuffrida, Exhibitions manager from Royal Botanic Gardens Kew, Andrew Wilson a London photographer who recently published ‘Wild about Kew’ and many other fascinating books and Tony Maclean a professional photographer who focuses on images and interiors of buildings. Our thanks also go to Caroline Blomfield who helped find our wonderful judges.

The photographs submitted by the children of Darell Primary School, Kew College, Kew Green Preparatory School, Kew Riverside Primary School, The Queens Church of England Primary School and Unicorn School, will be on display at The Kew Society stall at the Fete and in various locations around Kew.
