Fun at the Kew Horticultural Society Show

Update 30/08/2017

We were incredibly lucky to have glorious weather for the Kew Horticultural Flower & Produce Show on Kew Green last Saturday, now in its 73rd year.

Congratulations to all those hard working volunteers from the Kew Horticultural Society.

Here are a few photos of the day.

The Richmond Society and The Kew Society hosted a

GENERAL ELECTION HUSTINGS to MEET ALL THE CANDIDATES

There was an excellent turnout to the General Election Hustings we jointly organised last night. About 300 people came along to ask questions of all 5 candidates standing for Richmond Park and North Kingston, a marginal seat where the majority at the last election was just under 4,000 votes.

Photographs from the event can be viewed by clicking here.

As Charities we are apolitical, so in a good position to facilitate the debate. This was the biggest attendance so far for Hustings organised in this constituency. Many who came along are already members of our Societies but there were new faces too as the event was open to non-members.

We hope many will now join up to support what we do and take part in our events as a fun way to get to know people in our communities as well as learning more about the place we live in.

Could you be a new member too? Take a look at our websites for more about what we do and how to join us: www.kewsociety.org and  www.richmondsociety.org.uk. The more members we have the stronger our voice to influence improvements in the area. We already each represent about 5-6% of the population of our communities – not bad but we have ambitions for more!
