A celebration of David Blomfield’s life
Following a private family burial in the morning, there will be a celebration of David’s life on Tuesday 26th July at 3pm at the Barn Church, Atwood Avenue, Kew, TW9 4HF, and afterwards at Priory Park Tennis Club, TW9 3BZ. (Priory Park is at the end of Forest Road, Kew). Formal black attire is not expected.
In lieu of flowers, the family are raising money for research into early diagnosis and treatment of cancer of the oesophagus via Cancer Research UK. There will be details and envelopes available at the Barn Church service on Tuesday 26th July, 3pm, or you can donate to a memory page for David via Just Giving www.justgiving.com/Melanie-Millington1
It is with great sadness that we pass on the news that David Blomfield, one of the Patrons of the Kew Society, died on Tuesday surrounded by his family at home. He has been a Patron of the Kew Society for many years in addition to his many other roles in the community, including a Lib Dem Councillor for 17 years, Chair and then President of the Richmond Local History Society, a school Governor, JP, book editor and writer of local history. He will be sorely missed. As current Chair of the Kew Society, I will particularly miss his wise counsel and level-headed advice. We will let members know of the funeral arrangements. I would like to extend our sincerest condolences to his wife Caroline and all of David’s family.
Caroline Brock, Chair
