Local Interests & Activities
A comprehensive list of events and information about local organisations and businesses can be found on the KewTW9 web site.
However, we sometimes receive requests to promote events of interest from other organisations. So please find a few here that you may like to follow up.
From the James to the Thames
The Richmond Society has organised an event next Thursday evening 18th January at 7.45pm, at the Richmond Adult Community College, Parkshot, TW9 2RE.
The speaker is Jason Debney, Coordinator of the Thames Landscape Strategy(Weybridge to Kew) organisation. Thames Landscape Strategy raised almost £10 million to improve Richmond’s Riverside and the view from Richmond Hill during London’s Arcadia Project, and continues to preserve and enhance the Thames between Weybridge and Kew.
Jason is one of our local heroes, and a most charismatic, entertaining and knowledgeable speaker. He will be telling us about what connects the many “Richmonds of the World”, especially the similarities between Richmond Yorkshire, Richmond Surrey and Richmond Virginia, and including a fascinating insight into links between Richmond upon Thames and Pocahontas. Do come along to hear this able speaker, and to meet old friends and make new ones.
