Update 16/05/2018

The developer, Red and Yellow, are circulating their second Newsletter to those who responded to their first consultation with their summary of the results. Here it is: Kew Biothane Plant redevelopment consultation update

Red and Yellow will be organising a public exhibition on their proposals shortly and we will keep you updated.

Update 19/02/2018

We have been approached by the developer of this brownfield site near the Thames towpath for our initial thoughts on their proposals to develop the site to provide later life care facilities before they make an application. We welcome this early engagement with the local community and will be keeping an eye out for the application. The developer, Red and Yellow, are circulating a Newsletter to local residents asking for comments in a questionnaire.

The Newsletter giving the background to the proposals and showing the location of the site is here: 18 02 16 Red & Yellow Kew Community Newsletter – vF

And the questionnaire is here: 18 02 16 Red & Yellow Kew Community Questionnaire – vF

Or you can reply to the questionnaire on their website here: https://redandyellowkew.commonplace.is/

We hope you will give your initial thoughts which Red and Yellow ask to be submitted by 2 March.

Update 2/12/2016

This site, at Mellis Avenue, is included in Richmond’s site allocation plan to be redeveloped for housing. The land has now been put up for sale and work is underway by the owner, Thames Water Utilities, to decommission the site no longer needed for waste treatment by the Stag Brewery,

Fun at Sunset for all the family!

We were extremely lucky to be given the opportunity to host a picnic for our members and their families in Kew Gardens 'after hours'. We spread our blankets out under the Pagoda and enjoyed entertainment by Miss Lala and her amazing balloons and the wonderful tunes of the U-Kew-Lele band.  The weather was beautiful and the children ran around enjoying the evening sun.

This photo was taken by Caroline Blomfield from the top of the 250 year old Pagoda, yes many of us climbed the 253 steps to see wonderful views at the top.
