Fun at the KHS Show

We were incredibly lucky to have glorious weather for the Kew Horticultural Flower & Produce Show on Kew Green last Saturday, now in its 73rd year.

Congratulations to all those hard working volunteers from the Kew Horticultural Society.

Here are a few photos of the day.

You may have noticed that some trees which the council maintains along our roads or in our open spaces have been felled recently or, as with the Plane tree in Station Parade, are being considered for felling.

Several members have been asking us why ?

To answer your questions and for an opportunity to hear about the councils policies on tree maintenance, including when and how they are replaced if felling is necessary, we have arranged this members only meeting with Councillor David Linnette and Craig Ruddick, Aboriculture Policy and Planning Office at Richmond Council.

We would like to get a better shared understanding of the policies and perhaps identify a better process for letting the community know of what is planned in Kew.

Please do come along and take part. If you have a question, please email chair@kewsociety.org no later than Friday 30th October so that we can try to ensure you get an answer on the day.

Tickets are free but must be obtained in advance due to security requirements at The National Archives. Closing date for tickets is Sunday November 8th.

Click here to book your free ticket on line.

This is a member only meeting. If you are not a member, we would be delighted if you will join us by downloading the membership form from the 'Join Us' section. Or email membership@kewsociety.org

Once again we are delighted and very grateful to The National Archives for offering their excellent meeting room to The Kew Society for this meeting.
