Fun at the KHS Show

We were incredibly lucky to have glorious weather for the Kew Horticultural Flower & Produce Show on Kew Green last Saturday, now in its 73rd year.

Congratulations to all those hard working volunteers from the Kew Horticultural Society.

Here are a few photos of the day.

The Kew Society's second visit to Osterley House this year was a real treat.

The room guides were full of fascinating facts and we all spent a long time being amazed by the history of the house (see below). We loved the story of the marigolds - ask when you go yourself!

The Blue Room at Osterley House

Osterley House, once described by Horace Walpole as 'the palace of palaces', Osterley was created in the late 18th century by architect and designer Robert Adam for the Child family to entertain and impress their friends and clients.

Today the house is presented as it would have looked in the 1780s; enter the house as the family's guests would have via the impressive stone steps leading up to the portico.
